Refund Policy

Effective Date: May 8, 2026
Last Updated: May 8, 2026

This Refund Policy explains how The LaViscount Corporation (“TLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles refunds, cancellations, returns, exchanges, digital purchases, merchandise, services, subscriptions, and custom work offered through thelaviscountcorporation.com or related TLC sales channels.

This policy is intended to provide clear expectations before purchase. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, and Submission & Creator Terms.

1. General Rule

Refund eligibility depends on the type of product or service purchased.

TLC may offer:

  • Digital books and downloads

  • Physical books

  • Merchandise and apparel

  • Creator services

  • Publishing services

  • Archive & Armor services

  • IronCanon reviews

  • AI Governance Sprint services

  • Consulting services

  • Custom creative work

  • MythFoundry Studio access, memberships, or creator features

  • Event, contest, or fellowship-related purchases

  • Other products or services

Because these offerings are different, refund terms may vary by product, service, vendor, or written agreement.

If a specific product page, checkout page, invoice, contract, statement of work, or written agreement includes refund terms, those specific terms control for that purchase.

2. Digital Products and Downloads

Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, purchases of digital products are final once the product is delivered, downloaded, accessed, emailed, unlocked, or made available.

Digital products may include:

  • Digital novels

  • E-books

  • PDFs

  • Templates

  • Reports

  • Digital guides

  • Digital art files

  • Downloadable materials

  • Online toolkits

  • AI-generated or AI-assisted deliverables

  • Other digital files or access-based products

Refunds may be considered if:

  • You were charged more than once for the same product by mistake.

  • You purchased the wrong item and contact TLC before accessing or downloading it.

  • The file is defective and TLC cannot provide a working replacement.

  • TLC is legally required to provide a refund.

Refunds are generally not available because you changed your mind after accessing the digital product, did not like the content, expected different content, failed to read the description, or no longer need the product.

3. Physical Books, Merchandise, and Apparel

Physical products may include books, apparel, mugs, posters, prints, accessories, or other merchandise.

Some physical products may be fulfilled by third-party vendors, printers, shipping providers, or e-commerce platforms. Return and exchange eligibility may depend on the vendor’s rules and the condition of the item.

Unless otherwise stated on the product page or required by law:

  • Items must be unused, unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and in resaleable condition to be eligible for return.

  • You must provide proof of purchase.

  • You must contact TLC within 14 days of delivery to request a return or exchange.

  • Return shipping costs may be your responsibility unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect.

  • Original shipping fees may not be refundable.

  • Final sale items, custom items, limited-run items, personalized items, clearance items, or made-to-order items may not be eligible for return.

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact TLC promptly with your order information and clear photos of the issue.

4. Services, Consulting, and Custom Work

Service purchases may include:

  • AI Governance Sprint

  • Archive & Armor

  • IronCanon review

  • Publishing services

  • Creator consulting

  • Mythic IP development

  • Editorial, continuity, or canon review

  • Business consulting

  • Governance review

  • Custom creative work

  • Technical or strategic services

Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, service fees may become non-refundable once TLC begins work, reserves time, reviews materials, prepares deliverables, conducts meetings, performs analysis, or allocates resources to the engagement.

If you cancel before work begins, TLC may consider a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances, payment processing costs, scheduling commitments, and any preparation already completed.

If you cancel after work begins, TLC may retain fees for work performed, time reserved, expenses incurred, administrative costs, and value delivered.

5. AI Governance Sprint Refunds

The AI Governance Sprint is a structured service that may involve intake review, workflow analysis, risk mapping, policy drafting, governance recommendations, document preparation, and delivery of a governance package.

Unless separate written terms say otherwise:

  • A deposit or full payment may be required to reserve the sprint.

  • Fees become partially or fully non-refundable once TLC begins intake, review, analysis, scheduling, preparation, or delivery work.

  • Missed meetings, delayed client materials, incomplete client responses, or client-side delays do not automatically create a refund right.

  • If TLC cannot reasonably deliver the service due to TLC-side limitations, TLC may offer a reschedule, credit, partial refund, or full refund depending on the situation.

  • If the client materially changes scope, additional fees may apply.

TLC does not guarantee legal compliance, regulatory approval, investor approval, revenue outcomes, cybersecurity certification, insurance approval, or third-party acceptance from an AI Governance Sprint.

6. Subscriptions, Memberships, and Recurring Access

If TLC offers memberships, subscriptions, creator access, reader access, paid communities, software access, or recurring billing, the applicable checkout page or subscription terms will describe the billing period and cancellation process.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • You may cancel future renewals according to the cancellation process provided.

  • Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund past charges.

  • Partial-month or partial-period refunds are not guaranteed.

  • Access may continue until the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise stated.

  • Free trials may convert to paid plans if the terms at signup state that billing will begin after the trial.

7. Deposits, Retainers, and Payment Plans

Some TLC services may require deposits, retainers, milestone payments, or payment plans.

Unless separate written terms say otherwise:

  • Deposits reserve time, capacity, planning, or production resources and may be non-refundable once work begins.

  • Retainers may be applied to work performed during the applicable service period.

  • Missed payments may pause or terminate service.

  • Deliverables may be withheld until payment is current.

  • Payment plan obligations may remain due even if you stop participating after work has begun.

8. Events, Contests, Fellowships, and Special Programs

Refunds for events, contests, fellowships, creator challenges, workshops, or special programs may be governed by program-specific rules.

Unless separate rules say otherwise:

  • Entry fees, application fees, and administrative fees may be non-refundable.

  • Missed deadlines, disqualification, non-selection, or failure to participate do not automatically create a refund right.

  • If TLC cancels a paid event or program, TLC may offer a refund, credit, or rescheduled opportunity depending on the circumstances.

9. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you have a billing issue, contact TLC first so we can review the matter.

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting TLC may delay resolution and may result in suspension of access, cancellation of services, loss of account privileges, or termination of active work while the dispute is investigated.

TLC reserves the right to provide transaction records, communications, delivery records, access logs, service records, and policy documents to payment processors, banks, or dispute-resolution providers in response to chargebacks or payment disputes.

10. How to Request a Refund, Return, or Exchange

To request a refund, return, cancellation, or exchange, contact TLC at:

thelaviscountcorporation.tlc@gmail.com

Include:

  • Your full name

  • Email used for purchase

  • Order number or invoice number, if available

  • Date of purchase

  • Product or service purchased

  • Reason for the request

  • Photos of damage or defects, if applicable

TLC may request additional information to verify the purchase and evaluate the request.

11. Processing Time

If a refund is approved, processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, or platform used for the transaction.

Payment processing fees, shipping fees, platform fees, rush fees, administrative fees, or completed work may be deducted from the refund where permitted and disclosed.

12. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Refunds are not provided merely because a customer, client, creator, or participant did not achieve a desired result, including:

  • Sales, revenue, or business growth

  • Investor interest

  • Publication acceptance

  • Audience growth

  • Canon acceptance

  • Contest selection

  • Legal compliance approval

  • AI governance approval

  • Platform acceptance

  • Personal satisfaction after completed work

TLC aims to provide serious, good-faith work, but no creative, business, publishing, AI, governance, or consulting service can guarantee a specific outcome.

13. Policy Changes

TLC may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version posted at the time of purchase generally governs that purchase unless a separate written agreement says otherwise or the law requires a different result.
